On EU Membership Press Release, 4^th April 2001 Polish, Czech, Hungarian and Lithuanian people see their country halfway to full EU membership Less than 50% of Czechs will vote in favour of EU membership if a referendum is called now. 54% of Russians are in favour of joining the European Union. Polish, Czech, Hungarian and Lithuanian people see their country halfway to full EU membership

Less than 50% of Czechs will vote in favour of EU membership if a referendum is called now.

54% of Russians are in favour of joining the European Union.

Only Polish and Lithuanian people believe in vast majority (62% and 56%) that their country should improve and modernize its economy at first and attempt to join the EU after.
