CEORG January 2004 Survey on Economic Situation
Czechs, Hungarians and Poles not very enthusiastic about
the economic situation in their countries. Will it get any better during their first year in the EU?
Every half a year, the Central European Opinion Research Groups Foundation CEORG conducts public opinion poll where the public is asked about their opinion on the economic situation in their countries and households, and for a prediction of further developments. The most recent opinion poll of this series took place in December 2003 and January 2004 in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.
It can be said that the citizens of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland are not satisfied with the economic situation in their countries. In Hungary, the biggest group of respondents (44.9%) thinks that the situation is rather neutral, while majorities in both the Czech Republic (55%) and Poland (62.3%) think that the situation is bad or very bad.
